Field Notes

Description:

These spiders have the ability to change color to match the flower it is sitting on. Its color change will normally take a few days.

Habitat:

Dry and hot

Notes:

In a matter of hours this bee was totally gone. I'm not sure if the spider ate it all, but I do know that there were a number of files sharing in the feast while I was there.
The flower crab spider featured in this photo was a very light pink when I first found it (see photo three for a reference) and gradually changed to a much richer pink in the photos where it is consuming the bee.
