Field Notes

Description:

Found under a cover board for herpetological research in Unity, Maine.

Habitat:

Very moist field, near edge of coniferous forest. Field is trimmed nearby for farm (within fifty feet), though this area was left uncared for in order to not disturb our study site.

Notes:

Handling animals is certainly discouraged, however, these moles are incredibly quick and shy, so we captured it in a safe, professional manner before returning it back into its burrows.
