Description:

Wingspan. Approximately 4.5 inches; Upperside bright orange with wide black borders and black veins; rows of white spots in the border.

Habitat:

Feeding on flowers of a Silverthorn (Elaegnus pungens) bush located along a fence line between two open fields.

Notes:

Butterfly in migration south to Mexico.
