Field Notes

Description:

Peregrine Falcon with a kill of Common Pigeon.

Notes:

The Little Rann of Kutch in Gujarat is a wintering ground for a number of species especially the Raptors. The winter months also mark the arrival of salt pan workers to this habitat which is majorly a saline open mudflat. Common Pigeons are fairly common to spot around the thatched settlements of these salt pan workers and this Falcon made the most of that very opportunity!
