Field Notes

Description:

Several river otters shared a tender kiss and frolicked in the water and on the grass. They like to roll around in the sand; and they blew bubbles in the water like a kid with a straw in his milk.

Habitat:

Along an inland fresh water canal in western Boca Raton, FL

Notes:

It looks like there was one large male and two others in the group but I can't tell it is a female and child as the two smaller ones were close in size. I believe it is though, as some time ago there was a family with one youngster who came by. One of the otters caught a fish and ate it while swimming so he could keep up with the family.

Thanks for the comments - I did add it to the Animal Young of FL mission as I believe one of the three otters is actually the child of the other two.
