Description:

Chlorostrymon simaethis is a small green hairstreak butterfly with silvery-white bands on the underside of wings. Wings have a frosted margin and tails.

Habitat:

Spotted nectaring on flowers in the butterfly garden at Resaca De La Palma State Park near Brownsville, Texas. Found in thorn scrubland and dry woodlands if its host plant is nearby mostly Balloon-vines (Cardiospermum spp.).
