Description:

A remarkable fruit of the Solanaceae Family that looks like little golden cow's udders (also another of it's common names). It is a poisonous fruit but is used in traditional medicine (for example in Trinidad for the treatment of Athlete's Foot). It is native of South America but is now naturalized in Central America and the Caribbean. The branches have formidable thorns.

Habitat:

This one was growing in the gardens around the Tule Tree, Santa Maria del Tule, Oaxaca.
