Field Notes

Description:

A couple of many found en masse in the shallows of Thomas Point Beach area in Brunswick, ME. Many were washed upon shore.

Habitat:

Shallow, murky ocean water, near saltwater marsh and temperate forests.

Notes:

According to some local news, jelly blooms this year were far more intense than previous years; potentially a sign of the changing phenology of the jellies and conditions of the Gulf of Maine due to climate change.
