Field Notes

Notes:

Despite its name, Gigantiops destructor is a timid harmless ant. It is a fast runner and unlike most ants can and will jump. A couple methods of defense used are nesting near Bullet Ants that have the most painful stink in the forest and a similar look to another species of ant, Pachycondyla apicalis that also stings.
