Description:

I saw several monarchs in this meadow filled with swamp milkweed an important larval host plant for the monarch. The adult's wingspan ranges from 8.9 to 10.2 centimetres (3.5 to 4.0 in).

Habitat:

Spotted on swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata var. incarnata) in a large meadow with that plant (see pic 6).
