Description:
Native wildflower to North America. Very tall plant with large lobed leaves. Thick, hollow stems with white umbels of flowers at the top. A chemical found in this plant's leaves and stem can cause blisters on exposed skin. It is the largest member of the carrot family.
Habitat:
Partially sunny area bordering temperate forest. Shenandoah National Park, Virginia.
