Description:

Can anyone confirm the ID of this spider, or improve on it?
I have been seeing these huge spiders (this one excluding the legs is 30mm long) on the road beneath street lighting at night waiting for flying insects to fall to the ground. Very lazy but a certain meal. Tragically it also means they become road kill. I presume this one is a female.

Great shots! Eye pattern suggests a Hogna sp. Wiki only lists one for China Hogna rubetra, but I've not been able to find a photo online.
