Field Notes

Description:

I’ve never seen this little guy before. I took out the garbage and it took the opportunity to hang out in my house🤣. It’s so beautiful with a white head, peach and white type stripes and black spots. When it opened its wings I was shocked by the bright beautiful shades of red, pink and yellow.

Habitat:

I found this beautiful creature in the subtropical south Florida region but I understand this animal ranges from Connecticut to Nebraska and then south through Mexico, Florida and even down to Brazil.

Notes:

Sorry about the photo quality I wanted to snap a few pictures without causing it too much anxiety and get it back outside.
