Field Notes

Description:

This weird little guy with the green head, brown body, dorsal ridges, and large ear hole things, is a green frog. Was pretty excited to see this. There are some conflicting facts I've seen about these guys, like whether or not they're Endangered or Least Concern, or if they're even supposed to be in Kansas or not. Some sites I've found call them natives, others disagree. I found this one in Elk City, a place near Independence, KS.

Habitat:

This guy was found is what was basically a marsh or swamp, so that's what I assume they usually live in.
