Field Notes

Description:

This flower beetle was collecting pollen from a magnolia flower. This was the first time I ever saw one, but recognize Trichiotinus piger, which is common in beetle books from North America. They are more common in south Texas, in places like San Antonio, or Houston.

Habitat:

Found in my garden in Fort Worth.

Notes:

Was collecting pollens on a magnolia flower.
