Description:

Lemon Sharks got their name from the yellowish tint on their skin.
They are among a few species of Sharks that does not need to constantly swim to breath as they have the ability to pump fresh water over its gills while it rest on the sea bottom.

Pic#1 - this Lemon Shark was resting on the sea bottom and getting cleaned by a Remora.

Thanks again, @Sukanya Yea, the tongue eating louse is really horrible. Have seen them but so difficult to take the picture, mostly on Clown Fishes (Nemo) in Lembeh Straits, Indonesia.

It is incredible to actually " see" all what I read in college. Thank you so much Albert. The parasitic stuff in the mouth must be bad enough but then, think about Cymothoa exigua, or the tongue-eating louse that infects fishes...simply awful for the host. many thanks for putting up such great photos and taking time out to respond to my comments.

Thanks, @Daniele for the nomination. @Sukanya - Remora do hitch free rides and they mostly feeds on leftovers of their host but as seen in this picture, they do help to clean or feed on the parasites on their host. During this trip, I was able to see some 'big-sized' parasites on the Sharks, up to around 4-5 cm in length! However, I was not able to get close enough to do a close-up shot of the parasites. In Pic#1, there is a blackish stuff in the mouth of the Shark, that is also a parasite.

I always thought Remoras hitched free rides...it was an eye-opener seeing one at work. I always thought Wrasses were the doctorfish; now I see Remoras are too. Thanks a lot for letting us explore a world not many of us have access to. And of course, your spottings are masterpieces...like this two in one. Many thanks, again.
