Description:
Small bird with buff, brown and white feathers and a short black bill. The one pictured above has yellow feathers on its belly which is indicative of fall plumage.
Habitat:
Can inhabit open woods, and urban areas. This one was found in my yard.
Notes:
Fun Facts: 1. The Eastern Phoebe was the first banded bird in North America. It was banded by James Audubon (1804). Super Cool!! 2. These birds reuse their nests. 3. They are a solitary bird. 4. The oldest Eastern Phoebe on record was 10 years and 4 months of age.
