Field Notes

Description:

These feral chickens in Kauai were everywhere, rumour has it that they can be traced back to hurricane Iniki in 1992 that destroyed many chicken farms and blew them right across the Island, this Rooster was having a good crow as we were visitnig one of the many blow holes near to Waimea canyon.

Habitat:

In Kauai they are just scattered everywhere however it is likely they were first brought to the Island by settlers as a means of providing food.

Thanks Mauna I will do and I thought his expression was quite comical too!
I also encountered these guys all over the big island in Hawaii. The rooster's expression is kind of funny. Nice spotting. Maybe you can add it to this mission, since Gallus gallus were introduced to Hawaii: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/17638321 . Thanks!
