Field Notes

Description:

Three individuals spotted. All soft bodied. Probably nudi branchs, a local species of sea hare. Found rolling about in surf curled up with purple ink/ dye oozing out of glands! Think this might be a sign of predation or something to do with breeding cycle but not certain. Varied in size from 1 inch to 4.

Habitat:

Sandy bay at one side of rocky headland. Shallow inter tidal.

Notes:

Slightly concerned that something was causing stress to these creatures, but also realize it could be part if their natural life history.
