Field Notes

Description:

Glossy or bronze colored black bird, with medium length tail, and beak.

Habitat:

Beach house driveway.

Notes:

If the spotting is confirmed than this a lifer for me! I am open to any ones thoughts or identifications. Definitely smaller than a great-tailed.

And even those might have been mistaken
There hasn't been a Common Grackle spotted in over 6 years in SoCal
Then it's got to be a Great tail
U highly doubt it's a brewers blackbird, the tail is not the right shape/size
But if you are saying it is way smaller I would say probably a Brewer's Blackbird.

Yes, thank you for your help, I do agree that we need some more input/proof. i really wish it was a better quality pic though, then it mite be easier to ID. but i'm glad i got to see it!!!

Looks right! It is very rare in San Diego county in winter, so we should wait for some more input.
