Fun fact! Tarantulas range in size from as small as a fingernail to as large as a dinner plate when their legs are fully extended! Although venomous there is currently no record of a tarantula bite causing a human fatality, and the bites of many species are no worse than a wasp sting. Before biting, tarantulas often rear up into a "threat posture" as you can see here in this individual spotted by Project Noah member PabloPlus. If this fails to scare off a potential threat, they will usually retreat from danger if that is possible, inflicting a bite only when cornered. https://upload.facebook.com/projectnoah/photos/a.10150595289465603.674700.10150120463815603/10153908304490603/?type=1&stream_ref=10
Thanks, but I would need more time.
Thanks staccyh No easy to take this photo! SCARE!!! Jajaja! (Inverted lens, take it maybe at 5 or 6 cms of this face)
I have others. Tomorrow I can upload more. But this is the "common" name in my country. (Uruguay) Maybe not "cientific correct".
Do you have any other picture of this spider? They are nice ones, but maybe not sufficient for getting closer than Tarantula.
