Field Notes

Description:

Lone sea otter relaxing and grooming while floating in the harbor. This is one of two otters I usually see here; never at the same time. They look totally relaxed but actually they can float on their back like this and move pretty fast with just their tail propelling them.

Habitat:

Boat harbor next to town.

Glad I could help you remember! They are so relaxing to watch and always bring a smile to my face
Reminded me of myself when I first learnt swimming..it is very relaxing to float like this. I feel such solidarity with the otter :) Thank you, Machi for reminding me about a very distant but happy memory!
