Field Notes

Description:

This fellow rolled a golf ball sized perfectly round ball across the road in front of us, very quickly. Every once in a while he would stop and climb on top of the ball and look in the direction he wanted to proceed, then climb down a start rolling it with his back legs again. If he came to an obstacle that he couldn't roll it over, he would stop, pick it up and throw it over the rock or stick. If that didn't work he would change direction and continue on his way. He even rolled it up an incline that was about a meter high, and then disappeared into the tall grass.
