Description:

We found this pod full of seeds and white fuzz on our playground! The seeds seem to be connected to the fuzz. The outside of the pod is green.

Habitat:

We found it on the playground. There are a lot of open fields around our playground.

Notes:

We are member of a curious second grade class who would love to know more about this pod!

This is the seed pod of a milkweed (Asclepias sp.) - hard to tell which species. http://www.namethatplant.net/plantdetail.shtml?plant=3307 If you go to this site and type asclepias into the field, you'll get a page with a lot of different species. Good luck!
