Field Notes

Description:

Mammal. Light brown fur with white underbelly and undertail. Males grow antlers seasonally, which range in size depending on age. Can grow up to 4 feet tall (male, measured at the shoulder).

Habitat:

Woodland, forested areas and surrounding urban communities.

Notes:

Populations are thriving and regularly hunted throughout North America. Very common species.
