Description:

about 40 feet tall , narrow & compact trees; scaly, green, and very short leaves; reddish-brown, peeling bark; blue "berry"-like cones (light green at first, before turning blue) about 5mm wide, matured in September

Habitat:

edge of woods on urban school campus

Notes:

important food source for many animals
