Field Notes

Description:

This large adult male was actively pursuing a female for at least 15-20 minutes. Eventually, he gave up for a short time. I handled him briefly to get a positive ID on the species (you have to look at the lip scales and the scales under the tail). He was released immediately after his photo shoot.

Habitat:

Campground within temperate forest.
