Description:
The Western Wood-Pewee is a cute little tyrant flycatcher and similar in appearance to its eastern counterpart. It has a grey head with a slight crest and no eye-ring. Olive grey upperparts and lighter underparts. Whitish throat and a dark bill with yellow at the base of the lower mandible. Two faint wing bars.
Habitat:
Spotted at Flaming Geyser State Park at one of the wetlands. The bird perched on low lying vegetation where it had good visibility of the wetland as it looked for prey. They prey predominantly on flying insects.

Range in western North America.
