Description:

This cute little guy (I presume guy) is a bold jumping spider. Relatively, if not totally harmless. They rarely bite and are kind of skittish. Though they are venomous the venom isn't potent enough to cause severe trouble to humans. This particular species has iridescent chelicerae, which is a bit hard to tell in this picture.

Habitat:

This species is common in southeastern Canada, most of the United States and parts of northern Central America, and has been introduced to Hawaii and the Nicobar Islands. They are the most common jumping spider in North America.
