Field Notes
Notes:
I would have said this is a Slow-chirping Mottled Field Cricket Nymph but the macro image shows the differences quite clearly. There are less markings and bands on the body as well as more intense mottling of the legs. Although the reference is northern hemisphere the identification seems correct. I cannot see see an Australian reference to it online so far. Nocturnal image taken on a pathway beneath a lamp in covered area beside a school, road and woodlands. Are the knees on this one different from the reference?
