Field Notes

Habitat:

This was spotted in the tropical rainforests of the Western Ghats in India at the peak of the monsoon. It was growing on a dead tree trunk which was also a host to a number of ferns.

Notes:

Agumbe is the second wettest place in India, experiencing an average annual rainfall of around 7000mm.

A fantastic spotting Rudradey. Could you please tell us a little more - where this was spotted (habitat) and maybe the tree (live or dead) if you know. This species is said to grow on dead or dying wood. Looks like a very wet place.
