Field Notes

Description:

This plump bird is perching on a wire line. This species are not related to the swallow family despite their common name. Only recently their population has been greatly expending in Tawau. Just 4 years ago, I can hardly see one here but now, many of them can be seen resting on wire lines by pairs just like lovebirds.

Habitat:

Around Taman Semarak, Tawau, Sabah.

Notes:

Things are getting from bad to worse here. I believe that you have heard about the Lahad Datu incident. Hopefully everything will be under control so I can continue uploading photographs onto PN, peacefully. >>>Map accuracy : 250m diameter.
