Description:

Mating Pair. A large black and yellow swallowtail butterfly with a wingspan of forewings is 50–58 mm.

Habitat:

Spotted in a tree at the National Butterfly Center in Mission, Texas.

Notes:

It is found from the south-western United States, through Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica to Panama. The northernmost record is north-eastern Colorado. (Wikipedia)
