Both the Red Junglefowl and the domestic chicken share the same Genus + species, only the subspecies being different. In this case the plumage is close to the wild adult male and, knowing this area, there is a good possibility that this may indeed be a domesticated but pure Red Junglefowl as these are common in the jungles of West Malaysia, especially on the eastern side.
Nice chicken! I will go see some tomorrow at the county fair!
