Field Notes

Description:

Large gray squirrel with black head. Its the largest tree squirrel in North America

Habitat:

The fox squirrel lives in deciduous and mixed forests. In the south, it can also be found in cypress and mangrove swamps.

Notes:

We spotted at least six in this location which is a high count for me. I usually spot one every couple of months passing through North Florida/South GA area.
