The resident couple didn't take long to find the suet i put up for them, the male was watching over his girl from a nearby tree.

yea, i thought it was weird at first too but its a good substitute for worms and bugs during the winter time, and really fun way to get to watch them up close on a daily basis.

I thought wood peckers ate worms and insects. I didn't know what suet was, but I found out it is some sort mutton/beef fat. It's a totally new information for me.
