Description:

Is this an image of a Red Saddlebags ( Tramea onusta)? The descriptions of Amber-wings, Orange-wings, or Red-mantled dragonflies differ when viewing this image.
There isn't any black to the wings, the abdomen is a dark-brown as is the thorax, the eyes are light green, and it's 'face' is cream in color. The majority of its wings, beyond the amber 'saddlebags, is translucent.

Habitat:

Stream-side wetlands consisting of cattails, willows, and cottonwood trees. The dragonfly was within about 25-ft of the water way, and this species was present July through mid-August of 2015.

Notes:

Cheery Creek State Park & Reservoir, Denver, CO, 80014.
The confluence of Cottonwood Creek nearest the Prairie Loop Trail on the southern edges of the reservoir. Cottonwood Creek is a slowing creek.
Approximate coordinates are: Lat. 39.630424 x Lat. 104.852304, with a Elev. of 5,500ft / 1,676m.
