Description:
The North American beaver is the largest rodent in North America. They can range from 24 to 71 pounds. Older beavers can reach weights of 110 pounds. Beavers have a large leathery tail and webbed feet. They have brown, wiry hair to keep the water off them so they stay dry. Beavers share swamps, lakes and rivers with otters and fish. Beaver have a parasitism relationship with humans, because the build dams and block water ways that we might need.
