Description:
About 10 mm long, this jumping spider was a dark brown, almost black with white lateral lines on both the cephalothorax and abdomen. Legs were long, hairy and brown except for the femurs hich were covered with dense black setae. Palps were white. The four front facing eyes were a deep blue. This attractive little spider was waving its white palps at another similar sized brown spider (pic 5) on the same branch. I wasn't sure if the brown one was a female or one of another species being chased away.
Habitat:
Spotted on a Leptospermum (Tea tree) at the Langwarrin flora and fauna reserve.
Notes:
Could not find a match for this very attractive spider with beautiful deep blue eyes. Any help with an ID would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. <br>
