Description:

Small skull about 5" in length. Thinking it might be a fox.

Habitat:

Found in the spring along a slightly wooded, marshy, low lying riverbed area in an area that looked like it had been burned by fire.

So, I am 99% sure this is a raccoon after all! However, since the skull is pretty beat up, I am going to run this past an expert friend of mine to confirm. Again, great find!

Hi Lindsy, cool find! I think this could be a raccoon or skunk skull. I don't believe it is a fox, but let me compare these pictures to some books and specimens I have to give you a final say for sure!
