Field Notes

Description:

Bright green, slightly translucent body with white slashes down its sides, and a small red dot in the middle of each slash. It also has small tufts of hair running down either side of its back.

Habitat:

Woodland areas and nearby urban communities

Notes:

After the caterpillar is fully grown (about 5-6 weeks), it will form a cocoon from a leaf and internally-produced silk. After about two weeks the caterpillar with emerge as a large brown moth with two large black and amber spots on its lower back. It will have a wingspan of up to 6 inches
