Field Notes

Description:

Unknown rather large insect. Reminds me of a mix between a mantis, walking stick, and stilt-leg fly. I've fumbled around on bugguide.net, to no avail.

Habitat:

Found in a wooded area near prairie.

Notes:

Not found in Ames, but I can't change the location on my tablet. Specimen was found in Leon, Iowa.

As for the location issue. Try putting gps coordinates in the location search box. It should work with that.
Try looking here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/213/bgpage :-) Thread-legged Bugs are really cool.
