It's not a centipede--- it's a millipede. Millipedes bodies are rounded-- like a pencil. There are two pairs of legs in each segment. Centipedes bodies are flatter , and only have one pair of legs per segment. Millipedes are scavengers, usually eat decaying plants and are generally harmless, but centipedes are fierce predators and are usually venomous.
Nice shots- I'm tempted to say yours are "giant American millipedes ", but I need to check the range first...!
