Red Deer (stag)

These proud looking Red stags were up on the hillside as we were driving home form our walk but fortunately there were no cars behind us so my friend stopped the car briefly for me to grab a quick shot through the open window but thats all I managed as a large 4WD came up behind us then so we had to carry on.
The red deer is the fourth-largest deer species behind moose, elk and sambar deer. It is a ruminant, eating its food in two stages and having an even number of toes on each hoof, like camels, goats and cattle. European red deer have a relatively long tail compared to their Asian and North American relatives
