Description:
Koi fish or more specifically nishikigoi, are a group of fish that are ornamental varieties of domesticated common carp. Can reach up to 3 feet in length, but size of the fish depends on the living conditions. Beautiful, vivid colours. Have barbels on the upper lip.
Habitat:
Are coldwater fish, and their ability to survive and adapt to many climates and water conditions allowed the domesticated species to be propagated to many new locations. Koi fish can be found in the ponds throughout the world. Koi fish prefer water temperature that ranges from 15 to 25 degrees of Celsius.
Notes:
Koi fish and goldfish have the same ancestor.
Koi fish is an omnivore.
Only 50% of fertilized eggs will survive.
