Roadside hawk
Buteo magnirostris
4.741, -75.9899
Field Notes
Description:
It is a relatively small bird of prey found in Latin America. This species is often the most common raptor here.
Habitat:
With the possible exception of dense rainforests, the Roadside Hawk is well adapted to most ecosystems in Central and South America. It is also an urban bird, and is possibly the most common species of hawk seen in various cities throughout its range.
Notes:
I saw both hanging in the same branch of the second photo, but as soon as I went to take my camera, one of them went to another tree.
I'm amazed how light these birds are or how resistant is that branch of the first photo.
