Species ID Suggestions

They are delightful little birds, aren't they? They are always a tiny splash of color in the snowy Northwoods here in Minnesota.
Thank you for your help Gordon. I really loved meeting these chipper little birds, and I agree with your description. They are Common Redpolls. I also liked rolling through you collection of photographs. Very impressive! I snapped the pics of the Redpolls with my phone. While the pics are not beautiful, the moment was. Thanks again for you help.
By the way, you've got some very nice photography in your collection.
I think what you have here is a flock, not of purple finches, but of Common Redpolls. See http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Common_Redpoll/id/ for information on redpolls and http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Purple_Finch/id for purple finches. They are about the same size and have similar coloration so would be an easy species to confuse.
