Field Notes

Description:

Small Orbweaver of about 4mm body size, which may make this specimen a male. The females are almost twice as long. The legs and underside of the abdomen are green, with the distinct bright orange 'smiley face'. The upperside of the abdomen is usually silvery white with narrow black lines, and the cephalothorax is yellowish.

Habitat:

Found among low vegetation on the way to the "Rostro Maya" in San Juan La Laguna, Lake Atitlán.

I wasn't able to get any shot from a different angle due to the position of the web.
