Field Notes

Description:

Small yellow caterpillars with black heads and dark tubercles. Light hairs. Congregated in a web nest. Nests can be distinguished from Tent Caterpillar nests by location. Fall Worms build their nests on branch tips vs Tent Caterpillar nests which can be found in tree crooks.

Habitat:

Bayard Cutting Arboretum. Cultivated area.
