Field Notes

Description:

Leaves are smooth, leathery, waxy, and dark green. They are 13cm in length and 7cm in width. They are drip-tip , oblong shaped and netted pinnate. The leaf arrangement of jack fruit leaves is alternate. The leaf margin is entire. The bark texture of this tree was rough and thick. The jack fruit was yellowish green, rough in texture and hard. It was around a size of a ball. The roots of this tree are basic straight root.

Habitat:

I found this plant in a secondary rainforest located in Singapore
American School. It is sunny at some parts, but mostly shady.

Notes:

This was found near other trees and bushes. I learned the origin of this plant was Southern India.
